Leptosia nina georgi
Pieridae; Pierinae; Anthocharini; Leptosia; Leptosia nina georgi Fruhstorfer, 1910. According to Wikipedia, Leptosia nina georgi is the ssp. present in the northern Philippines and Leptosia nina terentia is the ssp. present in southern Philippines. Both of these ssp. are displayed in Philippine Lepidoptera. So, with my favourite sources in agreement, I feel totally secure in this identification.
This Peacock Pansy was spotted in a rice field which was left uncultivated this season to allow the land to rest. When we do this, an amazing variety of grasses and foliage springs up very quickly and creates what I like to call a tropical meadow.
