I found this print and scat in the back of my lot this morning. It looks to me like a small black bear, maybe a cub. The scat wasn't well formed and had a lot of, er, crap in it - so I'm thinking it was a youngster who was sampling a little of everything.
Thanks Harry F! I guess the length of 6 inches was throwing me. Seems a little big for a raccoon...
The long toes look like the hindfoot of a raccoon.
