Olive baboon

Papio anubis

Description:

Females are the primary caregivers of infants but males also play a role. By two weeks, the infant begins to explore its surroundings for short periods but stay near her. The distance that the infant spends away from its mother increases the older it gets.

Habitat:

These baboons were hanging out near a site in Nairobi National Park that commemorates the burning of ivory. They hope for handouts from tourists.
