Ceratophrys cornuta
Large frogs with voracious appetites and very large mouths to match it. Colors are a mixture of near black, shades of brown and bright green.
Found along the edge of a swampy area in the Amazon rainforest of SE Ecuador.
These two are either male and female or juvenile and adult. They were being closemouthed about it.

A belated thank you to all of you. I have no idea how I missed you-all. Anyway, I appreciate your continued encouraging comments.
Love your spotting - the two different colored frogs, close-ups and your humor!
Look at these guys! Your notes made my day Tukup ;-)

They were being closed-mouth about it... That's a good one!!
Wow extraordinary frogs.. all mouth and horns.
Cool. I didn't know there was such a thing, being a newcomer and all. Thanks for the nomination. It is unusual to find one. Finding the two was incredible.
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
