Lascar

Pantoporia dama dama

Description:

Named after a sailor or militiaman from the Indian Subcontinent or other countries east in reference to these butterflies' bold pattern, dashing flight and light stripe running lengthwise across the wings which reminded earlier authors of officers' shoulder marks and epaulets.
