Description:

'Often seen in the evening time. The wet season form has prominent eyespots but these spots are greatly reduced in the dry season form.' (Nelson Rodrigues) Dry season form Common Evening Brown. Caught in butterfly trap in dense forest habitat. Caught approximately 11:15. Wingspan measured at 72mm. General wingspan measurements are from 60-80mm. Family: Nymphalidae

Habitat:

Dense forested region. 'Mostly moves in the undergrowth.' (Nelson Rodrigues)

Notes:

Attracted to alcohol rich fruit- in this case fermented banana was used as the bait.
