One of the most common butterflies in Mumbai. When the dry season form closes its wings it looks like a dried leaf. Fiercely protective over territory. Family: Nymphalidae Wingspan measured at: 53mm

Habitat:

Wooded and urban areas, seen in bright sunlit areas but prefers more shaded places.

Notes:

Caught in butterfly trap today at approximately 10:50.
