Hairy Black caterpillar

Description:

This hairy caterpillar was about 25 to 30 mm. The head end appeared to have two lateral black tufts of long setae. There were tufts of long white setae all along the side of the body. Dorsally, there was a median row of red spots/setae with at least two segments showing white specks. At the thorax and along the rear end were a row of three white specks.

Habitat:

Spotted on a Kunzea plant in a bushland reserve.

Notes:

Not able to identify this attractive caterpillar but will keep looking...
