Notes:

I found this grub when I was digging up some smilax tubers in my backyard. The grub occupied a void in the tuber and was discovered when I broke the tuber as I was removing it from the ground.

This is a Cerambycid beetle larva. Most Cerambycid larva feed in decaying wood but a few feed in live wood and some feed on roots, which I suppose is what this is.
