Thanks Sachin. These Common Eiders were really common yesterday when I went looking for the King Eider. There were about 1,000 of these birds in the Cape Cod canal.

Thanks Jakubko, these are common along the coast in most of New England especially in the winter. I suspect they aren't too hard to find on the NY coast either.

Ric, Common Eiders are "common" up here in the winter, but seeing one in Florida would be a nice spotting.
Had one fly into a beach community along the Intercoastal Waterway here in FL about a month ago; and by chance a local birder confirmed its presence w/ a photo. Bells and whistles went off for others to find it again. It was not to be seen. I didn't get to see that photo, so it's nice to see this one.
