Borriguerro Ameiva

Ameiva praesignis

Habitat:

Couldn't find much online. This one (there were a few of different sizes in same area) were in a "park" with man made lawn and tree plantings. It is a narrow stretch between a highway and a beach shore. The area has bike paths, parking lot, and heavy traffic. Observed running along the bike path and lawn area and hiding in hedges or tall grass plantings when approached.

Notes:

Yet another non-native lizard of South Florida. Observed a few individuals in this area. The one pictured was the largest. The last photo is to show the blue details on its tail.
