Carabidae; Cicindelinae: Cicindelini; Calomera, C. lacrymosa (Dejean, 1825). There is a scientific paper giving lots of information and some good pictures: https://www.researchgate.net/publication...
My wife and I were visiting her family in the evening and this beetle flew into the house, perhaps attracted by the lights and settled on the curtain long enough for me to go back to our own house (just next door) and get my camera. Its normal habitat, of course, must be the surrounding area. Plenty of flower gardens, vegetable plots, rice land and a wide variety of tropical vegetation to choose from. Apparently it doesn't mind being close to human habitation.
