Notes:

These birds are abundant in my backyard. Some people have a tendency to find them annoying...but I think they are beautiful birds with soothing calls. Diet: Eats large seeds and grains. They will also eat fruits, snails, and feed on bones. Nests: The nest is constructed by the female with materials brought by the male. Nesting materials include but are not limited to twigs, grasses, weeds, and moss. Predators: They have many including Great Horned owls, woodpeckers, grackles, cats, jays, foxes, rats, mice, snakes, and humans. Fun Facts: They feed their young crop milk which is a secretion from their esophagus. Doves that live in the Sonoran Desert time their migration around the fruiting schedule of the saguaro cactus. The oldest of these birds on record was just shy of 22 years old. Ref: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Whit...
