Body length approx 15mm. Feed on grasses such as rice and sugar cane, can be a serious pest. During the dry season, they hibernate in large numbers in sheltered places and swarm when disturbed. Safety in numbers

Habitat:

Sheltering on underside of leaves, open grassland. James Cook University, Cairns campus
