Orangutan

Pongo pygmaeus

Description:

Some pics of the first day we visited Sepilok sanctuary. The orangutans are free to roam in the forest (is not an enclosed sanctuary) and they come for feeding times as they wish. The babies and juveniles are still kept a part until they are old enough to be released. In one of the pics you will see 120, a female that has a genetic disorder that makes her hairless.

Habitat:

Sepilok, Sabah.
