Mammals were kept out of the nest, but when we took them out of the ground, one hatchling was half eaten by ants under the ground.
Well it's adorable! I'm sure it appreciated you protecting the nest so raccoons didn't get him :)
Ashley, this one was from a nest we protected in my yard. They aren't common, but I see a few every year.
