While this one was found under lights at night this species is common among the grasses on the wooded ridges around here. You cannot take a step without one or two taking flight at this time of year
I have forgotten the northern hemisphere name for these. Golden veneer grass moth or something like that. Around the middle of April as the heat goes out of the days and it becomes autumn these moths become almost the last survivors and are found clinging to lights and in houses trying to keep warm
