Mallards

Description:

Drakes - iridescent green head, yellow bill, gray upper body, light gray to white underbody. Has a black rump with some white and black tail feathers with white tips. Female - Brown body with black mottling, orange bill and feet

Habitat:

Almost any body of standing water will attract Mallards. These birds are becoming more urban in some locations.

Notes:

Our most common duck in this area. It can be found nesting in the urban aras as well as it's traditional locations in nature. Some of these birds may have stayed here through the winter which is a bit unusual.
