Chrysanthemum leucanthemum

Description:

A white and yellow flower head 1 - 2" wide, up to 20 white petals surrounding a yellow center of disk flowers. Leaf is thick, green, irregular toothed.

Habitat:

Spotted along the road near South Tamarac Lake, open, wet, sunny area.

Notes:

A European import. Also called Ox-eye Daisy. It contains pyrethrum, a chemical that repels insects and is used in organic pesticides.
