Junonia orithya leucasia
Blue Pansy ♂ (Junonia orithya leucasia Fruhstorfer 1912; Nymphalidae; Nymphalinae; Nymphaliini). It has many subspecies occurring from Africa, through southern and south-eastern Asia, and Australia. It is called Eyed Pansy in southern Africa, and Blue Argus in Australia. Distributional record of this ssp.: Philippines excluding Mapun (Cagayan Sulu) and Sibutu. Recorded hostplants: Asystasia gangetica (Zamboangenita), other Asystasia species, Hygrophila, Justicia procumbens, Lepidogothis incurva, Pseuderanthemum variabile, Thunbergia alata (all Acanthaceae), Antirrhinum majus (Snapdragon), Angelonia salicariifolia, Buchnera linearis, Striga lutea (all Scrophulariaceae).
