Blue Porterweed

Stachytarpheta jamaicensis

Habitat:

South Florida native (in counties of Miami-Dade, Monroe, Collier and Lee). Grows on dunes, shell middens, pine rock lands and commonly on disturbed sites. Also native to the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Bermuda and Mexico, throughout Central America, Brazil and Ecuador.

Notes:

This plant makes a good small hedge or groundcover option to a butterfly gardens as it attracts butterflies and other pollinators.
