Description:

A stocky black shorebird with a long orange-red stout bill that is built for foraging for marine organisms. It has a bright yellow iris and a red eye-ring. Pinkish legs and chocolate brown body\wings that become darker in its northern range.

Habitat:

Spotted along a rocky stretch of beach at Cresent City, California.

Notes:
