Description:

Red-bellied Woodpeckers are medium sized woodpeckers that are often found in midwestern to eastern United States. They have black and white striped backs as well as a bright red cap and nape. You can often hear them drilling on a nearby tree as they look for insects and other critters.

Habitat:

They are common in many forests in the mid to eastern United States.
