Description:

Ceratogomphus pictus, the Common Thorntail is a species of dragonfly in family Gomphidae. It is found in Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and possibly the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Habitat:

edges of large pools and slow-flowing streams.

Thanks Mari, it really wasn't too hard to snap this guy, never have I seen a dragonfly hover in the air as long as this guy 5-10 secs at a time!
