Panacea regina
beautifully iridescent butterfly
primary rainforest
I spotted this on a nighthike. I believe it was a sleeping butterfly which we disturbed. It landed on a fellow hikers head and I was lucky enough to get these shots. I wish it landed on my head!
Thanks Carol and thank you Telse. You can definitely get some cool winter shots around the Falls with the ice on everything. Glad you enjoyed it and the city. You will have to see the Falls in the summer sometime, just to see the contrast.
Hi Dan. Welcome home. Always wanted to see a bit of Ontario. Finally had the opportunity. Although I've never seen the Falls in the summer, the Falls in the winter are awesome. Actually I was more interested in taking photos of ice formations and seagulls around the Falls, than the actual Falls. It was hard to get a good shot of them, due to the fog and mist. Much easier to buy a few nice wintery postcards lol. My seagull photos aren't so great, but ice formations on objects turned out awesome. I have some kewl photos of icicles on a lamp post that are frozen stiff and blown horitzonally. Pretty kewl.
Nice little town Niagara Falls. Reminded me of where I live in the Okanagan, vineyards and orchards etc... and it wasn't half as cold and windy as Toronto was. Cheers Dan.
Thank you all. I have many more butterflies to come. Telse, unfortunately I am already home. I wish I could have stayed! How did you like the Falls in the winter?
Hello from Canada. Kewl photo Dan. Guess where I just returned from? Your home town. You're not missing anything weather wise. lol.
Stay where you are. :)
