Rufous-brown crown and wings, scale-like pattern on breast and a patch over the eye...although not quite the bandit patch.
Open farmland. Near a national highway. Just behind a cluster of sweet shops.
Shrikes are called Butcher birds because they impale prey (insects) on thorns for retrieving later. I have never actually seen them do this.
