Rove Beetle

Description:

A small black and yellow Rove Beetle, 6 mm long. When it felt threatened, it would lift the tip of the abdomen like a wasp. In the last picture, the wings are unfolded from the small elytra typical of this family. These are fast and active predators and good fliers. Family Staphylinidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light. Finca Argovia, Ruta de Cafe, Tapachula, Chiapas.
