White-legged Snake Millipede

Tachypodoiulus niger

Description:

Also known as Black millipede, this is blackish millipede, with cylindrical body, and white-creamish legs. This one was really small, maybe 2-3 cm approximately in length, somewhere 45 to 50 segments in all.

Habitat:

Found under the falling bark on a decaying tree stump during my last weekend trek through mixed forest (oak, beech, spruce and fir) on a rolling hills at the feet of Jura range; Geneva lake valley.
