Cervus canadensis
A large brown deer-like animal with a shaggy neck and white rump. Male elk get antlers in the fall, this group seemed to be mostly females and calves.

Thanks! Mostly this was just luck, being in the right place at the right time.
Nice series! I haven't been able to get a good shot of these guys in the wild.
