This insect looks like a female. I found it on my wooden shed door.

I think it lives in densely wooded areas

This looks like a cross between an ant and spider. It's About half an inch long.

Since you have an ID for this insect now, don't forget to add the Scientific Name to your spotting. Project Noah has a database and unless both the common and scientific names are filled in, I believe your organism will remain in the "unknowns". It will help other users when they use the site as well because it will link your spotting with others of the same species.
