Mealy Bug

Monophlebulus

Description:

about 1cm to 15mm. Oval shaped larva with white hairs all over the body. Orange body with blue markings. It did not move at all despite the twig above it being snapped off

Habitat:

What tree is that? I think it was a red gum.

Notes:

It may be a cup moth larva. I have no idea where to begin searching for a species id yet

Looks like some kind of giant scale insect.
Try Margarodidae - perhaps a Monophlebulus sp.
I don't really know this group very well so this is just a guess.
