Mediterranean Tiger Blue

Tarucus rosaceus

Description:

Size: 18-22 mm. Like Tarucus balkanicus but the underside of the hindwing line proximal to spots is broken at the veins;the uperside of the wing of the male is blue with fewer spots; while in the females is hard to separate.

Habitat:

The habitat consists of sudan savanna and the Sahel. Adults feed from the flowers of Ziziphus species. The larvae feed on Ziziphus jujuba.
