Description:

Large shrub native to rainforest areas. It is best known for its stinging hairs which cover the whole plant and deliver a potent neurotoxin when touched. The stinging sensation can last for days and even months. Characteristic heart-shaped leaves with toothed margins. TIP FOR CAMPERS: DO NOT USE THESE LEAVES AS TOILET PAPER!!

Growing in rainforest at the edge of the crater lake, Lake Barrine on the Atherton Tablelands, QLD
