Four-spotted Chaser

Libellula quadrimaculata

Description:

Mainly brown-yellowish dragonfly with massive body, some 5 cm in length, 7 to 8 in wingspan; with blackish pattern on last segments. It sports one dark spot in the centre of each wing, which gives this dragonsfly its name.

Habitat:

Small pond in local forest-and-meadow like park (Photo N°2). The park itself is at the outskirts of the town center, rather rural area in lowlands around Geneva lake (lac Leman), just between Alps and Jura mountain ranges
