Afrikaans common name: Koperbloutjie Wingspan: ♂ 17–22 mm ♀ 17–24 mm
Two subspecies. Male of E. messapus mahallakoeana has a variable pinkish copper blush. Larvae feed on Thesium and Indigofera. Flight period: Year-round in warmer areas, peak Oct and Mar.
