Definitely a Viola species, without seeing the leaves and stems it will be a bit difficult to determine the exact species. I'll give a semi-educated guess of Common Blue Violet (Viola papilionacea) . I used Newcomb's Wildflower Guide, p. 30, if you happen to have this book.
