Termite Mound

cryptotermes cavifrons

Description:

This termite mound was around a meter long, 1/2 a meter wide, and 1/2 a meter high. The second picture here is of the whole mound, and the first is of a newly added section. (Thus the lighter coloration). There were many small termites running around below it, but only in certain places. It was quite hard.

Habitat:

Secondary rainforest, in partial shade.
