Green Lacewing Larva

Description:

Small larva. Purple and pale coloration with six legs and large mandibles. Body elongated and somewhat flattened. Alligator-like. Family Chrysopidae. Found with prey (possibly a caterpillar).

Habitat:

Bayard Cutting Arboretum. Semi-wooded area near a brackish water source. Found in the flower of a Common Evening Primrose (Oenothera biennis).
