Ixora coccinea
Native to South India and Sri Lanka, the Ixora (a.k.a. Thechi in Kerala, India) is a tropical evergreen - thriving in sunlight and moisture - used as an ornamental, but more importantly in Ayurvedic medicine. The roots and flowers are used to treat diarrhea, cough, asthma, skin diseases, and even arthritis, to name a few.
