Oxalis pes-caprae
Buttercup oxalis, in a street in Volos, Greece. Although its a weed (introduced from Malta), during the German occupation in II World war, the species provided food to the starving farmers, who used the bulbs as ingredients in soups and stews. Ανθισμένη ξυνήθρα, σε δρόμο του Βόλου. Το είδος θεωρείται ζιζάνιο και εισήχθη στην Ελλάδα μέσω Μάλτας, αλλά κατά τη διάρκεια της Γερμανικής κατοχής, χρησιμοποιήθηκε από τους χωρικούς σαν συστατικό στην παρασκευή φαγητού...
