Leptotes pirithous

Description:

Delicate small 20 mm butterfly with uneven brownish-black and beige blocks on the underwings and more of a purple (than blue) colour on upperwings. Two prominent eye spots and two small antennae towards bottom of hindwings.

Habitat:

Urban garden. Apparently common throughout southern Africa
