Hi James and FAF, I agree that this certainly is a species of Stink Bug. FAF, the species that you suggested, Euschistus heros, does not occur in North America. There are several species of brown Stink Bugs in North America and many of them look very similar. It might be difficult to find which one this is with just the one picture.
