Spotted Cucumber Beetle

Diabrotica undecimpunctata

Description:

These beetles are common pests in Northamerica. Their Southamerican counterparts appear to have a much more vivid green coloration, and their black spots are much more reduced in size.

Notes:

I have no idea what this specific beetle was doing in a dandelion, since this species is carnivorous.
