Heliconia flowering inside bright red bracts. It is pollinated mainly by nectar bats at night and hummingbirds by day.The upward facing bracts act as a cup and create a source of rain water for birds and insects.

Habitat:

Sumidero Canyon National Park, Chiapas, Mexico.
