Helianthus angustifolius

Description:

Green base w/ yellow flowers and a reddish brown center. Attractor to pollinators and birds.

Habitat:

Tolerate a variety of weather and soil condition. They tend to spread extensively w/ ample water and sun thus becoming more weed oriented than a garden plant. This one was spotted as one of several growing in a dry, sandy soil, sunny, area of a county park.

Also known as the Swamp Sunflower.
