Description:

A small (smallest in North America), quick-moving woodpecker with a little red cap on the head. Females lack the splash of colour on their head.

Habitat:

Found in forested areas throughout North America. Spotted close to the Humber River.

Notes:

Looks a lot like the Hairy Woodpecker, but are actually not even related.
