Black Potter Wasp

Rhynchium atrissima

Description:

Black wasp, about 2cm in body length. It has orange antennae. Its wings have orange and black coloration. IDd as Rhynchium atrissima, similar to my other spotting - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/324.... Potter wasps (or mason wasps) are a cosmopolitan wasp group presently treated as a subfamily of Vespidae, but sometimes recognized in the past as a separate family, Eumenidae.

Habitat:

Backyard, spotted on Heliconia leaf and seen nectaring on Yellow Alder flower.
