Description:

Cap, ca. 2.5-3 inches diameter; red; glossy; slightly sticky; broadly convex. Pores ca. 2-3/mm; surface red; bruising blue; tubes, yellow. Stem red; ca. 3 inches long; equal along length; strongly and deeply reticulated along the entire length.

Habitat:

Growing alone in leaf litter in mixed hardwood forest with oaks.
