Milky Stork

Mycteria cinerea

Description:

Rare to this area. There was a small colony in the North of peninsula Malaysia which recently became extinct, and others in SE Sumatra and Java. Where this one came from is unclear. It stayed for the whole afternoon and was still present when I left. It does not appear to be an escapee.

Habitat:

Tidal mudflats
