Scarlet King snake

Lampropeltis elapsoides

Notes:

This lovely fellow was traveling parallel to me about 2 feet away. After momentarily stopping to ensure the coloration, I ran inside for the camera. By the time I got back outside, it was hiding itself in a mott used for gardening materials. Unfortunately, I've not seen more of these snakes since then; just the coral snake.
